Unique painting from plastic waste displayed in PALLADIUM

Have you seen the painting by Mára Čmára in PALLADIUM at the Infokiosk? If not, hurry up, it will only be on display until September 10, 2024.

This unique work is made up of three A0-size panels made from recycled sparkling water makers. The author of the work, Marek Kulhavý, also known as Mára Čmára, has used them to create an original triptych that symbolizes the important role of water in life and combines elements of ancient art with modern sustainable ecosystems.

"Water has always been perceived as the element around which life centres, and that is exactly what I wanted to represent. In doing so, I used elements of ancient art and mythology, which are closely associated with water, and incorporated elements of the modern, sustainable ecosystem that SodaStream represents into this environment. Although millennia separate these two worlds, the meaning of water and its cycle has not changed," says illustrator Marek Kulhavý, who created the work in collaboration with the SodaStream brand.

SodaStream, known for its sparkling water machines, is increasingly focusing on sustainability and incorporating recycled materials into its products and packaging. 25% of the plastic parts used in the new products already come from recycled materials and their packaging is fully recyclable. SodaStream's flavour packaging has also undergone a major change, and is now made from 100% recycled PET, also known as rPET.

The company implemented a special recycling project called "SHROTS" in the Czech Republic before the summer to highlight why it is important to behave sustainably. The initiative collected over 1.5 tons of plastic from old devices that were recycled, and some of the recyclate was used as the basis for the creation of a unique triptych by Czech illustrator Marek Kulhavý.

If you too want to contribute to sustainability, get a SodaStream. In PALLADIUM it is sold by DATART, which you can find on floor +2. It is open daily from 9 am to 9 pm.

A unique painting made of plastic waste by Mára Čmára is on display in PALLADIUM at the Infokiosk, free of charge, until September 10, 2024.
