Exhibition of photographs in support of autism awareness (floor +1)
"Imagine living in a world that you don't understand, and that doesn't understand you. You see it, you hear it, but you can't talk to it. When you express yourself, the people around you tell you that it's inappropriate, it's not supposed to be done, but you don't know how else to show that something is good, funny, or that maybe you have a toothache."
This is the world that Diakonie Praha, which is organising an exhibition dedicated to autism in PALLADIUM, wants to bring you closer to.
In the exhibition of photographs, Diakonie Praha shows the public how people with this type of disability can perceive the world around them, and how complex and misunderstood the life of people with autism spectrum disorder and behavior that requires care often is. Last year, Diakonie Praha opened Domov Daniela, where a total of eight adult clients with this type of disability found a home. There is still a shortage of similar community services in the Czech Republic and the demand for them exceeds the supply several times over. To draw attention to this issue, Diakonie Praha decided to organise a travelling exhibition.
We are glad that we can host this exhibition in PALLADIUM and give you a glimpse into the world of autism. The exhibition is on display in PALLADIUM until June 2, 2024 every day during the centre's opening hours. The exhibition panels are located on floor +1 of the gallery in front of the FJÄLLRAVEN store.
