Converse is an American brand with more than a century of tradition, which initially produced rubber work boots. To ensure year-round sales, it decided to start producing sports shoes, which were in demand all year round. It first offered its shoes to basketball players, which was popular in the USA at the time. The first version of the All Star basketball trainers was produced. The shoe consisted of a very thick rubber sole and a canvas, sometimes a leather upper. Since the former basketball player Chuck Taylor joined Converse and oversaw the sales of these shoes, the sales of the "Converse" trainers increased a lot. Chuck was therefore included in the development of the All Star shoes. The result was the ankle basketball trainers, which the company decided to name "All Star Chuck Taylor". This model has been produced almost unchanged since 1932.
